Tell us a little bit about your shop and how you got started:

i'm a native southeast florida beach bum with sand in my flip flops. i was raised on sunshine and salty air. as a beach bum, i'm looking for a way to perfect the art of doing nothing, but also want to share all the tropical loveliness of a typical day in paradise.

bright green coconuts, orange hibiscus, hot pink bougainvillea, turquoise water and warm tan sand, wind flapping through sails and rigging clanking on masts, citrus scents and orange blossoms...these are a few of my favorite things and are abundantly available. so i thought...i'm sure someone out there can use some of this somewhere else...why not share?

How does the ocean/beach inspire you? 

by reminding me to slow down and be still.  when i cross that spot on the horizon where the shore comes into view, i instinctively exhale and all the stress, the inner voices, the to-do's go out with the breath and the tide.  i think that allows each of us to naturally connect with that place where inspiration resides.

i do my best to convey a specific vibe in the photography and art of beach bum chix ...

you're laying on the beach. the warm sand beneath you, warm sun above, waves rolling in on the shore, balmy breeze cooling your skin, and you're so relaxed you can't even raise your arm to put on sunscreen...

that's the feeling i love and that's where i find inspiration.

What is your favorite beach destination? Why?

any place with sun, sand, salty air, and the crash of waves is heaven to me...so it's difficult to choose one beach.  if pressed, I would say the one that's in my own back yard...boynton beach.  i love getting on the beach cruiser, putting my camera in the basket, my two year old daughter on the back, and pedaling over to the beach with my husband to wait for the sun to set.  we always stop at two georges for a waterfront dinner and a beer afterward.  the whole process is pure bliss to me...and the beach is home, with all the word truly means.
